This extremely rare vintage British made 1940s Deluxe Twin Headed Articulated Medical Lamp made by Perihel has been given a new lease of life upcycled as a one of a kind stylish desk/table lamp. This style of heat lamp were widely used within hospitals and at home for medicinal purposes during the first half of the 20th century to treat all manner of conditions using infrared and ultraviolet light therapy.
 
The old heat lamp was in a pretty sad state when we first acquired it, and has since been stripped and re-coated in this stunning midnight metalic colour, making the striking vibrant orange accents really pop. The aluminium shades have been stripped an polished, and we have replaced the original heat bulb holders with chrome vintage style light fittings along with 2 mirrored oversized vintage Edison style globe bulb with gorgeous spiral filaments giving off a lovely warm glow.
 
The vintage Edison style LED bulbs are cooler than the traditional incandescent bulbs as they use up to 90% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs, and have up to 30,000 hours lifespan.
 
The chrome toggle switched control each lamp independently, and with a nod to it's previous life has a heat lamp a mysterious red glow can be seen emitting from the vents within the base. The lamp is also fitted with a vintage style brown braided flex cable and a 3amp British plug.
 
All fittings are genuine British parts, all hand-wired to a high, professional standard and have been PAT tested.
 
Approximate dimensions are: Height 85cm, Width 70cm, Depth 30cm, Shade diameter 32cm.

This lamp is huge with quite a bit of weight and is an original vintage item so there may be some natural wear and tear which adds to the character of the lamp.
