A beautiful one-of-a-kind table lamp, handmade from an antique brass and glass gas lantern and carefully transformed into a warm, characterful piece of statement lighting.
 
This original lantern has been given a new lease of life while keeping all the charm of its past. The aged brass frame, glass panels and carrying handle give it a wonderfully authentic vintage feel, while the warm glow from the Edison-style bulb creates a cosy, atmospheric light that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
 
Inside the lantern sits an antique-style light fitting holding a vintage-style LED Edison bulb with a decorative spiral filament. This gives the appearance of a classic filament bulb, but with the benefits of modern LED technology, including lower energy use, reduced heat output and a longer lifespan than traditional incandescent bulbs. Sensible, for once. Humanity does occasionally manage progress.
 
The lamp has been finished with vintage-style fabric braided cable and an inline dimmer switch, allowing you to adjust the brightness of the dimmable bulb to suit the mood, from a soft evening glow to a brighter feature light.
 
Perfect for a side table, bedside table, hallway console, reading corner, snug, cottage interior or vintage-inspired living space, this piece brings warmth, history and a touch of theatre wherever it is placed.
 
As with all Godwin Vintage creations, this lamp has been carefully assembled by hand in our workshop with close attention to quality, detail and character. As the lantern is a genuine antique item, small signs of age and wear may be present. These are part of its authenticity and story, rather than flaws.
 
The lamp is fitted with a British 3-pin plug and has been PAT tested.
